Northern Volunteering SA Inc is a not for profit organisation first established in 1984 as Para Districts Volunteer Service then constituted in 1988 with a name change to Northern Volunteering SA Inc.
Northern Volunteering SA Inc is committed to providing the sector with a wide range of services including: volunteer referrals and placements; volunteer and volunteer management training; consultancy; and customised training for organisations.
Promoting the value of volunteering to all sectors for the community by offering an inclusive, collaborative and positive service.

Our current staff are supported by a dedicated volunteer team of referral officers, administrators, and Community Visitors.
Donatella Amos – Executive Officer
Donatella Amos is the current Executive Officer of Northern Volunteering. With over 20 years’ experience in the volunteer sector Donatella has a good understanding of volunteerism locally, nationally and internationally. She is held in high regard with the volunteer sector and her person achievements include:
- Current Chair of Suicide Intervention Salisbury Network – Every Life Matters
- Past Chair of North East Community House and current Treasurer
- Current working party member for SA State Strategy – Volunteering
- Nominee 2017 City of Salisbury Living Legends Award for contribution to Community
- Inclusion in 2009 -2015 National Who’s Who of Australian Women
- Co-winner 2013 – Trainer in Skills for All Adult Learning Program
- Inclusion in 2009 inaugural SA Women’s Honour Roll
- Certificate of Achievement from Australasian Association of Volunteer Administrators (AAVA) for recognition of excellence in Volunteer Management
Donatella holds qualifications in Community Sector Management, Training and Assessment as well as volunteer program management including a Vocational Graduate Certificate of Management (Learning). Her passion is around effective community participation by empowering people to influence positive outcomes for themselves and to take ownership of their wellbeing and resilience as well as their chosen career or further education path through community participation programs such as volunteering or through professional development and training.
Jules Tkalec – Volunteer Admin Support Officer
Jules is the Volunteer Administration Support Officer at Northern Volunteering and supports the daily administrative tasks of the organisation, with a focus on operational objectives. She has a strength around systems and procedural development, and is also involved in the recruitment, induction, training, and support of the volunteers engaged at the Centre.
Jules has over ten years’ experience working in the volunteer sector and is a strong advocate for volunteering and its benefits, having witnessed this in others, and through her own personal experience.
Ritu Kapoor – Training Officer
Ritu comes from the heart of India, the capital city- New Delhi, where she completed an honours degree in commerce from Delhi University. After migrating to Adelaide, she developed an immense interest in education, training and community services.
She trains in diverse sectors such as Aged care, Disability services, Community services, WHS, Business, Leadership and Management and other short courses. She has trained for various RTO’s, independent and public schools for VETIS, international students and domestic candidates for Work Ready and Job Ready programs, Councils and community service organisations since 2013.
She is highly confident with training people from CALD and NESB as well. She’s a people’s person and been with NVSA since October 2021 as a training officer.
Bekk Sellars – Youth Officer
Bekk is Northern Volunteerings Youth Officer, she has grown up in the north and is passionate about empowering young people. She has worked as a youth worker for over 10 years in a variety of settings with a big focus on alternative education.
She set up a community centre for young people in Davoren Park, empowered young people to set up their own social enterprise to help with funding through establishing an Op-Shop, which supports the community with much needed personal clothing and supplies. For this and youth mentoring work, Bekk was awarded the Young Citizen of the Year award from the City of Playford in 2020.
Kate Lucas – CVS Coordinator
Kate (She/Her) is the Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) coordinator at Northern Volunteering she supports a team of volunteers who visit with residents at aged care facilities within the Salisbury, Playford and Lower Barossa council areas. Her previous roles at Northern Volunteering have included overseeing the CVS Virtual Volunteering program through Covid-19 lockdowns and facilitating the Rainbow Volunteers S.A youth group; a program that engaged northern LGBTQIA+ youth to experience volunteering whilst building relationships with the wider South Australian LGBTQIA+ community.
Kate has proudly worked alongside the caring team of volunteers & staff at Northern Volunteering since 2018.

NVSA is located at 39 John St, Salisbury South Australia, just a stone’s throw from the railway station and bus interchange.
